Wow...

Just like the cartoons, this movie is unoriginal and bland. I never though the Tankmen (besides being creatively animated) had any value at all - rehashed dick jokes, 1-Dimensional characters, boring set/setting etc..

Well now I can sleep peacefully knowing the game is just as shitty.

Way to go.

There must be something wrong with you.

Orgasmic!

Okay, this game is awesome on so many levels I'm not even going to try to list most of them. Instead, here's some things that stood out to me:

-Particles/effects: Normally, I find an overabundance of particles somewhat annoying, but in this case, it's an integral part of the feel of this game. The lasers darting across the screen, the beautiful explosions, and the screen jiggles all sucked me into this, better than most games of this genre have done.

-A.I. I loved the enemies would branch off from attacking your base and trail you, only to split off to their original target. Also, the enemy seemed to up it's game as you advanced in powers, which leads me to -
-Upgrades: I only completed the game once, I didn't get to see all the power-ups. But from what I've seen, I was impressed. Also, the fact that you constantly had to keep upgrading added an element of strategy, which complimented the already badass gameplay.

Honestly, this game was pretty epic. It felt like I was playing out a space battle scene in Star Wars.
Keep it up!

P.S. If you make a sequel, which you should, I think it would be a pretty awesome idea if you re-engineered the gameplay so that you could alternate between your teammates ships, and put less emphasis on a lone ship, and more on massive battles.

Kajenx responds:

You'd like the game "Azul Baronis" (going off your P.S.).

Toast...Okkaaaayyyy....

Dude, why toast? I mean, I could understand animals...but toast? I'm lost, but oh well.

Anyway, I liked the idea of the game. It's good natured, and I dig the random humor. However, in terms of gameplay, it doesn't really float my boat. Don't get me wrong; the game's completely functional, and it appears to do everything you wanted it to do. It's just that it didn't do that much. That is, the combat was pretty repetitious, it ran a bit too slowly, and other than the fact that the protagonist was a piece of toast (WTF?), it didn't really stand out at all.

However, I liked the simplistic art and style, the music was pleasant, and levels were well designed with some fun elements scattered here and there.

sinaiman responds:

I'm glad you still liked it, aside from the gameplay.

Why not toast? What would be so significant if the hero was an animal, it's been done before...but a toast...not so much, hehe.

Hehe, i'm glad you were able to enjoy some of it, with your dislikes aside , thanks for reviewing :)!

Cool! 5/5

This is one of those "inspirational" flash games. That is, it gave me a ton of ideas for future projects.

Anyway, this is a really good game. It runs a bit too slow, in my opinion, but the overall feel of it was nice.

PROS--
-I love the open environments, and I really got a sense of freedom (which most flash games overlook). Also, the overall game engine seemed to work well, despite laggy elements.
-The dynamic elements incorporated into ZH3 are awesome. I absolutely love the day-night cycles, and I think it was a really great feature to add.
-The idea of vehicles were good. Running over zombies was FUN!

CONS--
-The game felt a bit too slow. This is due to the huge map, and partly to the level design.
-Vehicles were WAAYYY too slow. Turning my car was an all-day affair. The cars were difficult to steer, and they took too long to accelerate.
-Although the shooting enemies were a pretty good idea, they killed you off too quickly.

Great game. Original concepts, and sets the bar high for upcoming flash games. 5/5

turning should not take long at all. use space while driving. breaks help you turn.

Very cool...

Awesome game. I can't believe it has such a low score. I had a lot of fun with this one.

Positives: The art (background, character etc) was fantastic. It was detailed and it really gave a good feel to the game. The controls were practically perfect. I liked how you could restart a stage everytime you failed without restarting the whole damn game! Plus, the overall game mechanics worked out pretty well.

Negatives: Sometimes the stealth aspect didn't work out. The enemies would frequently detect you even if you were out of plain sight. Other than that, the game was pretty cool.

Suggestions: If you make a Prison Escape 2, I suggest allowing the player to have weapons. I'd like to see some shanking, if you know what I mean...

Good game

freeworldgroup responds:

thanks... yeah we might think about weapons next time...

Didn't enjoy it...

Well, to be honest, I got very little enjoyment out of this game. The character art/animations was horrible, and the background art was...tolerable.

In my opinion, the game moved way too slowly. The bullets were slow, the movement was slow, the animation was slow -- everything was so damn slow.

Plus, it did nothing new or innovative. There's a million games like this one, and I'm getting sick of it.

Although I apparently didn't like the game, you did do a decent job with the presentation. At least the instructions were easy to follow, and the menus were pretty cool.

Other than that, this is just plain boring.

ChromeShark responds:

I can't argue with what you enjoy and don't, I don't personally feel that game is slow in most areas, some of the areas you mention were running as fast as Flash could handle.

I don't really think there are a million games like this, at least not on Newgrounds. Although it is what I'd call a standard platformer, I feel that this does a few things that most don't.

I'm glad you liked the menus at least.

Hilarious@!

Wow! This was something...

I always enjoyed the Blockhead tunes, but this was 10x better! Loved the concept, and the interface.

Top-notch voice action, perfect sound effects/music, and wonderful art.

Funny as hell!

The-Swain responds:

With my MIDI diddies and Chris Voigt's (Sexual-Lobster) electro-acoustic jams, I was very pleased with the game's musical score.

If you want to listen to the songs in high quality, go to Chris's site at www.greasymoose.com. He's got mp3s of all his work up there. I recommend Seedy House and LSD at Work :) As for the music I wrote, I am going to upload them to my site in the near future.

Not much point...

There wasn't much point to this game. I couldn't find any real objectives, and it was a bit slow..

However, I will say that you coded this well (as far as I can tell). The enemies were pretty fun to kill, but you ran out of ammo way too quickly.

Anyway, it has potential, but I think this game needs a lot of impovements. Try to get that story mode done, and your game will have more personality.
As it is, it's kind of on the crappy side, but I still managed to get some entertainment out of it.

Hope to see more of your work in the future -

Brian

Noirman responds:

Thanks brian, I'll try to make my next game a bit more on the solid side

Nice game!

Nice game you've got going on here. I was pretty impressed with it, and had some fun along the way.

Graphics, art, and animation were very well done, and the overall atmosphere of the game was pleasent.

Music was decent enough, I guess, and the sound effects got the job done.

My only complaint is that it ran a bit slowly, even on Low Quality graphics, and I've got a decent computer, so I'm pretty sure it was just the game. Also, the jumping was too slow for my taste, but it wasn't a big deal.

Good game -

Thanks for the review :)

W.T.F??

Okay...that was interesting.

I don't think I fully understood the concept (if there was one), but I did find the combat somewhat enjoyable.

The character art was pretty sweet, I thought. However, the background art hurt my eyes. No, seriously, the background art seriously injured my eyes...beyond repair.

Controls were all right, I guess. The "A + S + X+ Z" setup was a bit awkward in my opinion, but it still worked to a certain extent.

Anyway, funny characters (beast was awesome), nice effects and presentation, good sound, but game play got old after a while and the background art made me noxious.

Keys are customisable BWT - click "options"

This is more a piece of art than a game per se - Jon was very specific about the background composition. It's deliberately garish.

Thanks for the review!

I'm a dedicated underachiever.
